Where to Find Authentic Korean Food in Michigan

Living in Michigan, I sometimes find myself craving the bold and comforting flavors of authentic Korean food. Fortunately, there are wonderful restaurants here that bring a true taste of Korea closer to home.
Today, I’d love to share some of my favorite Korean restaurants in Michigan — places that always remind me of home.

Daebak Korean BBQ (Southfield, MI)

located inside New Seoul Plaza in Southfield, is a modern Korean barbecue restaurant that was formerly known as Seoul Garden. After a full renovation, it reopened with a fresh new look and menu. Each table is equipped with a grill, allowing guests to enjoy sizzling meats right at the table, accompanied by a wide variety of traditional Korean banchan (side dishes). It’s a fantastic place to experience authentic Korean flavors in a lively, updated setting.

Chung Ki Wa (Sterling Heights, MI)

Chung Ki Wa offers a traditional Korean BBQ experience in a cozy and welcoming setting. Guests can enjoy grilling a variety of meats at their table, including marinated short ribs (galbi), bulgogi, and pork belly. The restaurant is also known for its extensive selection of side dishes (banchan), which complement the main courses.​

Kimchi Box (Ann Arbor, MI)

street food. Located on Plymouth Road, the restaurant is known for its vibrant flavors and fast-casual atmosphere. Some of my favorites include their crispy Korean fried chicken, bulgogi tacos, and bibimbap. It’s a perfect spot for a quick lunch or Kimchi Box in Ann Arbor offers a fun, modern take on Korean casual dinner when I’m craving bold Korean flavors in a relaxed setting.

Manna Korean Cuisine (Auburn Hills, MI)

Manna Korean Cuisine is a cozy and welcoming restaurant located in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The food always feels homemade — thoughtful, flavorful, and filling.
